TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and The Hamilton Center in Terre Haute wants to let you know about the many services they have to offer.

They take care of people from young children, all the way up to seniors.

They have school-based services, therapy, out-patient services, medication management, residential services and crisis intervention.

One in 4 people suffer from some kind of mental health issue, so it's more prevalent than people might think.

"I think so many times, some people have a false perception of mental illness and mental health needs. I think the truth is that many people struggle with mental health needs and there are supports out there like The Hamilton Center," said Emily Owens with The Hamilton Center in Vigo County.

Besides all the services they have to offer, The Hamilton Center is also expanding their walk-in clinic.

That way, if you need help right away, you'll be able to see someone that day.

They're also expanding their services for our veterans.

So if you need to talk to someone or those feelings of sadness or anxiety just won't go away, please contact The Hamilton Center at 812-231-8200 or 800-742-0787.
