If you're waking up with itchy eyes, sneezing and a scratchy throat, you're not alone.
Doctors have said our intense summer heat dried out trees, grass and other plant life increasing ragweed and mold and kicking off the fall allergy season early.
On Tuesday, News 10 spoke with Doctor Ajit Singh from Regional Hospital about what you can do to ease those annoying allergy symptoms.
"You can take anti-histamines which are preferred long acting like Claritin, Zyrtec, they're over-the-counter and you can also use Benadryl if you have a really difficult time sleeping from severe allergies," said Doctor Singh.
If over-the-counter medicines don't work, Doctor Singh said you need to see your family doctor and then maybe an allergist.
In the meantime, since things like ragweed and mold can travel through the air, Doctor Singh suggests keeping your windows in your car and house closed and your air conditioning on.
Doctor Singh says hopefully with medicine and other small steps, you can ease through what's shaping up to be a rough allergy season.
