TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Health experts often warn people to wash their hands after sneezing or using the bathroom, pointing out that, by failing to keep your hands clean, you could be spreading illness to others.

To find out just how that spread of illness works in a workplace, reporter Joe Astrouski set up a simple experiment: after covering his hands with a glow-in-the-dark powder to simulate germs, he went about his daily business.

Later in the day, he turned down the lights in the office and turned on a black light, revealing all the places where Joe and others had tracked the simulated germs.

Experts say that, to avoid spreading germs in a similar way, it’s important to wash your hands well and often.
