TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - As flu and cold season continues, public health experts warn that many commonplace objects and places are those most likely to gather germs.
Experts say ATM buttons, public door handles, computer keypads, computer mice, car keys and money are all frequently touched by different people and can gather dirt and germs.
“Any objects like that that are touched frequently have lots of germs on them,” said Sydney Elliot with the Vigo County Health Department. “After you’ve touched those objects, it’s best to wash your hands.”
Elliot said touching your face, mouth or eyes after touching one of those germy objects can help bring germs into a person’s body.
