TERRE HAUTE, ind (WTHI) - - Over 75 organizations from across the Wabash Valley launched the Year of the River Wednesday. The initiative was created to raise community involvement with the Wabash River. Events will be held throughout the year and plans include building a hiking trail and a live camera feed of the river.
"The river is something that's been so important to our community, it's why we're all here, and it's been largely forgotten.” John Robeson, Executive Director, for Arts Illiana tells News 10. "We're hoping we can get people more engaged with our environment, because we've got a really great natural resource right here."
