TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - It is "so far, so good" for a trial recycling program in Terre Haute.
For the past few months, the Collett Park area has been the testing site for curbside recycling.
The city is working with Republic Services to see if they can offer the free recycling program to other neighborhoods.
One of the big factors in their decision is participation, and it seems the program is catching on.
"We're collecting about 180 cubic yards per month just in the test area. Average in other places where they've tried this is about 150," Terre Haute City Spokesman Darrel Zeck said.
After the test program wraps up in December, officials will look at expanding to other parts of the city.
