TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Students are doing their part to help Good-will meet an Earth Day goal.
Since returning from spring break, South Vigo High School students have been collecting donations for Good-will. The drive was organized by the National Honor Society and the African American Enrichment Club. Students say they came up with the idea after seeing a need for every day necessities in the community.
"In the school there are many people who have clothes and things they don't use at home," said Brenda Amway, a senior and member of the African American Enrichment Club, "so if we could get them to donate, we would be helping out the community."
The students collected nearly 50 trash bags full of clothes, books and shoes. The Wabash Valley Good-will Industries says the donations will help them fill their truck for Earth Day.
