TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A study reveals organic food may not have the nutritional advantage originally thought.

According to the research, organic products offer little to no major advantage when it comes to nutrients.

It's a key reason many people say they invest in the more expensive products.

The study focused on vitamins A, C, and E, which is one reason local organic advocates say the findings don't reveal a clear picture.

"A lot of times, studies may be looking at a few nutrients, not looking at all of the micro nutrients when we consume a whole carrot or whole foods," Candace Minster from the White Violet Center said.

Organic advocates also say, other than healthy benefits which they stand by even after this study, organic food also benefits the local farmer, as well as the environment.
