Adopt-a-Planter in downtown Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Streetscape Adopt-a-Planter project is in full swing and needs your sponsorship.

When you adopt a planter box, each sponsor will receive perennial flowers, mulch and a decorative plaque.

A professional landscaping business will provide the upkeep for the planters.

"The purpose of doing the planter boxes is to make downtown more attractive," Stephanie Boyd, Downtown Terre Haute Inc., said. "And the more attractive it is to people then the more customers will be coming into businesses and restaurants. Image is everything, so adding flowers is a plus for downtown."

Annual adoption fees:

• Small Planter: 4x4 -- $50
• Medium Planter: 5x10 -- $100
• Large Planter: 6x20 -- $250
