TERRE HAUTE, IN (WTHI) - Food coinsurers can enjoy fresh organic fruits and vegetables without any of the labor.
Volunteers and staff members at the White Violet Center spent the day planting on Monday.
By June, their hard work will be sold to customers in the community in the form of shares. Shareholders can expect to get a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs each week, from June through September. Shares can feed a family of four to six people.
Previously share holders would have to pick up their shares at Saint Mary of the Woods. This year, a new location has been made at 19th and Ohio streets.
The cost is $450.00 for 18 weeks, the equivalent of $25 of produce each week.
Registration will be accepted until April 30th.
Contact Candace Minster to register at 812-535-2935.
