TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Fork in the Road series comes to an end Friday, but not before the judges crown the best pie in the Wabash Valley.

The crew made their first stop at Bev’s in Terre Haute.

Bev Marlowe knows a thing or two about pie, after all, she’s been making them for the last 37 years.

Bev says these were her grandmother and mother’s recipes from scratch.

The next stop was the West Union Café.

Owner Kaycee Adams has worked at the café since she was 18.

Kaycee says they are known for their fish, chicken and of course the pie.

“We go through pies, oh my gosh, we can’t keep them. We sell the whole pies, they go out as we make them” Adams said.

We asked Kaycee what makes her pies so good.

“Well, we make everything from scratch for one thing, and I think it makes a better pie,” she answered.

The last stop was Becky’s Café back in Terre Haute.

Becky Smith has been in the pie game for 25 years.

She makes all of pie from scratch every morning, and that’s what her customers say makes the difference.

What is Becky’s favorite flavor?

“Believe it or not, that’s how I met my husband, 24 years ago over a piece of banana pie. He came in every day for that piece of pie,” she said.

So, where did they all stack up, and who has the best pie in the Wabash Valley?

In a Fork in the Road first, all of the votes went to the West Union Café.
