Fork in the Road: Bill Bobe's Pizzeria

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - After pleasing their palettes with the precision thinness of Wise Pies Pizza, chief photojournalist Mike Latta and his crew of “Professional Eaters” traveled a fortnight—well, okay, just an hour—to Vincennes to Bill Bobe’s Pizzeria.

So far, you, the viewers, have led our crew high and low, near and far, and have been spot on with your voting.  But, just how well would Bill Bobe’s pizza stack up against Wise Pies?

Never to back down from a food challenge, our crew entered the pizzeria with “game faces” on and hungry stomachs.  And by game faces, we mean eyes dilated, mouths gaping and drool running uncontrollably down their chin, as they were brought to the kitchen where a pizza paradise awaited them.

Pizzas both large and small and of many varieties sat there behind an invisible cloud of wonderful smelling spices, as if the food were tempting the crew, calling out to them, saying, “Please, eat me!”  It all seemed like a dream; however, thankfully for the crew, it was a reality, and they were going to eat these perfect pizza pies.

After the last breadstick was dipped and eaten, the crew sat and reflected on the wonderful flavors that graced their tongues, and the hearty meats and cheeses that filled their stomachs.  If it was a battle of flavor that Wise Pies wanted, Bill Bobe’s was glad to step into the ring.

But, how would the deep dish style and flavorings of Bill Bobe’s stack up against the New York style and precision of Wise Pies?  To top it off, there’s one more of the Wabash Valley’s most voted for pizzerias to come. Only the Latta and the gang will be able to decide on Friday.

Though voting for the Wabash Valley’s best pizza has ended, Latta and the band of “Professional Eaters” need your help for next week: the Wabash Valley’s best cheeseburger.

If you would like to vote, click on the link below and be sure to have a photo ready to submit with your vote.
