TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - This time of year, stores of full of sales, however some are good deals while others you should wait on.
While it's still hot and dry, stores are starting to offer their traditional end of summer sales.
However, just because something is 50% off, doesn't mean it's a good buy.
With school right around the corner, one of the things you should stock up on are clothes. Especially with the warmer weather continuing, most summer apparel can still be worn for another two months.
Another good school purchase is laptops. With a ".edu" email address, stores are offering great deals for incoming students.
Also, grilling season is nearing a close and stores don't want a large inventory for fall and winter. If you can get one for a good deal, snatch it up.
Finally, what better way to end the summer than a cruise. While not an every day purchase, deals are easy to find because we're starting to enter hurricane season.
If you're a risk taker, this could pay off.
Luckily, swimwear is also heavily discounted this time of year so you'll have plenty to wear.
But for every good deal, there's one you should wait on.
The biggest is phones and tablets. the newest iPhone and Kindle devices are highly expected to be released in the coming weeks.
So if you can hold off on a purchase, you can have the newest gadget for a year instead of just for a month.
Another purchase you want to wait on is patio furniture. while you may find a sale now, you'll most likely find an even better sale in a month.
