Indiana’s population growth remained slower than normal between 2011 and 2012, according to information released last week by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Locally, both Vigo and Daviess Counties grew their populations, though that growth was by less than one percent, according to the information.
Economic development officials said Monday that any growth in population is good news, since Vigo County and Terre Haute saw declines in population starting in the 1970s, a trend they say has begun to reverse in the past few years.
