Record food stamps costing billions

The number of people needing help with meals is at a record high.
     
Numbers from the department of agriculture show 46.7 million people used food stamps in June. This is the latest month that information is available.
     
That's up over 3% from a year ago.
     
These stamps cost the government and the American people nearly $76 billion each year.
     
This is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's biggest expense and more than double the cost from four years ago.
