OLNEY, Ill. (WTHI) - As a new business prepares to take over the Walmart Distribution Center near Olney, Ill., company officials are recruiting new employees to operate the facility.

Missouri-based Prime, Inc. was recently awarded the contract to operate the center, which is now operated by Schneider Transportation, company officials said.

To make the transition, officials with Prime said they need to fill between 140 and 160 positions, including jobs as drivers, wash bay personnel, diesel technicians, refrigeration technicians and dispatchers.

John Hancock, who directs training and driver recruitment, said the company hopes to hire people who already work at the center.

“We need those existing folks that are already in place working, doing those services every day,” Hancock said. “Over the next couple months, that transition will occur, and we need them all.”

The company plans to hold job fairs at the Holiday Hotel in Olney next Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hancock said. Company officials recommend calling beforehand at (888) 385-4127.
