Festival provides more than fun

PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - Small town festivals are popular around the Wabash Valley, because they bring something different for people to enjoy.

The Honey Bee Festival in Paris, Ill. is one that provides entertainment for the community, but, more importantly, it also gives back.

The festival has been around for 33 years, bringing in revenue for the area.

It always has activities for children and families, with food and vendors galore, and even a little history sprinkled into the mix.

Local and statewide vendors flock to fill festival grounds to make a little cash, which also benefits local businesses as well.

Local businesses are bringing awareness to their products. Local organizations are raising money for their causes.

Festival organizers create more revenue from auctioned off handmade pieces and collect money from vendors that pay for space.

The good news, all of this extra money is used for their very own community.
