TERRE HAUTE, Ind - The Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association has honored WTHI-TV, once again, naming wthitv.com Indiana’s Best Local TV Website. The award was one of six News 10 received and the second consecutive year wthitv.com received the AP’s highest honor.
“It’s an honor for News 10 to be recognized for “Leading the Way” in the Wabash Valley. These awards reflect the hard work our team does every day and represents the commitment and dedication put forth in each story they cover for our viewers as we strive to “Make a Difference” in our communities,” said Todd Weber, WTHI-TV Vice President and General Manager.
In addition, News 10 also took the evening’s top honor for best News Series for Rondrell Moore and Nick Nebesny’s “While You were Sleeping.” News 10 and Storm Team 10 took home special honors as Indiana’s Outstanding News and Weather Operations (Second Place). Also earning special honors was the entire staff of News 10 for “Fallen in the Line of Duty: Officer Brent Long” (Continuous Coverage of a Single Event) and the News 10 Photojournalists (Station Photojournalism).
“It’s always humbling to be recognized by your peers,” said Susan Dinkel, WTHI-TV News Director. “That stamp of approval means a great deal to our team, but not as much as the stamp of approval we receive each and every night from our viewers.”
The Annual Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards were presented at the IAPBA Spring Meeting and Awards Banquet held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel City Centre in Indianapolis, Ind.
