Chief Meteorologist David Wire joined Storm Team 10 in June of 1999 as the full-time weekend weather anchor for News 10 at 6, 10, and 11 p.m. In August of 2000, he was promoted to weather anchor for News 10 This Morning, where he woke up the Wabash Valley for more than 10 years!  In April of 2011, he was promoted to Chief Meteorologist and he is currently the meteorologist for News 10 First at 5, News 10 at 6, News 10 on myFox10, and News 10 Nightwatch.

Wire is a graduate of Indiana State University and is also a graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology program. Wire was born in Indianapolis and has lived in Indiana his entire life.  As a native Hoosier, he views Indiana's ever-changing weather as an "enjoyable challenge."

In 2008 Wire won the Indiana Broadcasters Association Spectrum Award for the Best Weathercast in Indiana.

Wire is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has earned the distinguished American Meteorological Society's "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" designation.

Wire enjoys spending time with his family and simply just being outdoors. He and his family live in Clay county Indiana.
