David Wire joined Storm Team 10 in June of 1999 as the full-time weekend weather anchor for News 10 First at 5, at 6 p.m. 10 and 11 p.m. In August of 2000, he was promoted to weather anchor for News 10 This Morning.  In April of 2011, he was promoted to Chief Meteorologist and he currently is the meteorologist for News 10 at 6 and News 10 Nightwatch.

Wire is a graduate of Indiana State University and is also a graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology program. Wire was born in Indianapolis, has lived in Frankfort and Terre Haute, Indiana. As a native Hoosier, he views Indiana's ever-changing weather as an "enjoyable challenge."

In 2008 Wire won the Indiana Broadcasters Association Spectrum Award for the Best Weathercast in Indiana.

Wire is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society and has earned the distinguished American Meteorological Society's "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" designation.

Wire enjoys running, hiking, camping, and just being outdoors. He and his family live in Clay county Indiana.
