Who says you can’t go home again?
Emmy award winning journalist Brent Frazier returned to his small town Indiana roots in the summer of 2012 -- and to the station he started his career at 20 years ago, WTHI-TV, some six months later.
Brent is a graduate of South Vermillion High School and Indiana State University, where he began reporting for the student newspaper always knowing his heart was set on television news. While in college, Brent received scholarships from ISU’s journalism department, based on his likelihood to succeed in the business.
Brent landed his first job here at WTHI while still studying at ISU, and moved on to anchor and report in markets like Lafayette, Evansville, and the last 12 years in Nashville, TN, where he met and interviewed superstars like Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks and Brad Paisley. While in Nashville, Brent came to be known among his colleagues and peers as a writer, a storyteller in an industry that so rarely allows a reporter time to truly delve into someone’s story. Brent also won his first Emmy while at WTVF-TV in Nashville, and was Emmy nominated for his writing abilities.
A lifelong fan of live theater and the stage, Brent had the distinct honor of resurrecting his ‘actor’ side – after a 20-year hiatus – when he landed the role of Corny Collins in Terre Haute Community Theatre’s rendition of the wildly popular musical Hairspray, in the fall of 2012.
Brent is thrilled to be home once again, covering stories that matter to his hometown, his family and friends. Got a story idea or a news tip? Feel free to Email Brent at brent.frazier@wthitv.com.
