distraught woman.. saved by a local firefighter. and it was all caught on camera! news 10 first brought you this story last night on news 10 on my fox 10. news 10's kylee stewart spoke with the man behind the camera .. she joins us live from the newsroom with more. it's all about being in the right place at the right time. that's what several people are saying after this event took place. in today's world.. most of us have our phones on us at all times.. that's what allowed one man to catch this heroic moment on camera. it's a woman.. standing on a bridge in west terre haute. fire investigator "norm loudermilk" lept into action...pulling her off of the bridge. kevin bays.. from marshall illinois.. had just picked up his son from school when he saw the incident.. "we started coming up to the bridge and we seen the cops pulling up on the bridge and we didn't really know what was going on." police had been trying to talk her down before loudemilk pulled her to safety. "it was scary. it's kind of like pulling up on a car accident, your heart sinks and you don't really know what to do. but of course the police was there so there was nothing that i could do." situations like this are also tense moments for the people in charge of water rescues. j.d. kesler is the assistant director of vigo county emergency management. he says reporting emergencies like this are crucial. "any emergency is an emergency worth reporting. no matter what you see.. report it." it could have been a water rescue for this crew.. but instead..it was a life saving moment that many will never forget. after the woman was pulled to safety she was taken to a local hospital. norm loudermilk says she thanked him for saving her life. reporting live in the newsroom.. i'm kylee stewart.. news 10...
