coach.. sports 10's casey miller was on campus today as the sycamores welcomed the leader they hope will turn the program around.. new sycamore women's basketball coach vicki hall knows the game.. she's spent the last six years as the associate head coach at toledo.. helping the rockets to four post- season appearances and 20-plus wins a season. and now she plans to bring that success to i-s-u.. "we all have the will to win. but i think there are few people that have the will to prepare to win. and we will be prepared." not only does hall have a lot of coaching experience, but her resume as a player isn't half bad either. she's got experience at all levels of the game. she was miss basketball in the state of indiana in 1988 out of brebeuf high school. she was a four-year letter winner at the university of texas. she played in the wnba and the us national team. and she says all of that experience has prepared her for this moment. "this sport has taken me all over the world. now after almost 30 years, i've been so blessed that this great game that i love has brought me home, right here to indiana state." before her introduction wednesday .. coach hall met with her new team.. and five-foot-five guard ashli o'neal says one thing stood out. "my first impression of her is that wow she's tall. she had to have played basketball somewhere." "she's seems very passionate and that's something we need here. that drive. and i think she's going to bring the competitivenes s." and that tough-minded mentality is exactly how hall wants to run this team. "we're going to work hard. i'm a defensive-minded person. the game is going to start on the defensive end. and we will dictate what happens." hall has plenty of work to do.. but she expects to return this program back to it's former glory.. in terre haute.. casey miller.. sports 10. a former indiana state assistant coach is enjoying the most success he's ever had
