like after prison. indiana state university's "criminal justice department" held a re-entry simulation today. coordinators from the federal prison helped. participants went through several centers to "role-play" the first month after incarceration. from that, students learned about the barriers people face after their release. the goal is to give future criminal justice professionals an understanding of existing challenges. so many folks in the united states have been or are justice involved people have been incarcerated. so now we're looking at how we can change how we do incarceration as well as re- entry. //// "i can see how one thing can mess up everything, like, if you mess up one little tiny thing, it messes up the whole big picture." this is the third year for the re-entry simulation. organizers hope to continue to use it as a teaching experience.
