On Tuesday, Duke Energy presented a check to "Rediscover Clinton" and the city of Clinton.

It was for $10,000.

The money will be used to create a walking trail in Sportaland Park.

It will connect existing sports fields, restrooms, and play areas.

Rediscover Clinton officials say this money will help connect the community.

"It's used for community soccer league, just countless events are held here, so we see it as a really important thing to make an investment in," Dylan Riggin, from Rediscover Clinton, said.

Construction will start next year.

Annually, the Duke Energy Foundation gives more than $30 million to groups.
