TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The name of the victim from the shooting at a Terre Haute apartment complex has been released.

The shooting happened Thursday evening just after 5 at the International Villiage Apartments on Terre Haute's south side.

That is near 7th and Springhill.

Police say they responded to several calls that a person was shot in the 4200 Block of South 5th Street within the complex. When police arrived, they say they found a 42-year-old man, that lived in the complex that had been shot. He has been identified as Robert James Archer.

Archer was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital where he later died. Officials report an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The investigation led officers to arrest 22-year-old Tristin Spencer of Terre Haute. He is being charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Spencer appeared in Vigo County Division 5 Court Friday morning. We will have more on this story when information becomes avaiable.
