Fewer tests more "pathways" State of Indiana changes graduation requirements

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WTHI) - The State of Indiana wants students to be prepared for future careers.

On Wednesday, the State Board of Education approved new high school graduation pathways.

They focus on skills and experiences, rather than test scores.

The plan is to let the students pick a pathway tailored to their interests and abilities.

Students must show both academic and employability skills.

They can do that through service or work projects, as well as college entrance exams.
