TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A woman faces charges after shots were fired on the Avenues Thursday night.

It started when police responded to a "shots fired" call around 10:30 near the 1400 block of 1st Avenue in Terre Haute.

According to police, victims told officers that 23-year-old Jasmine Jones was in a car when they got into an argument.

They said Jones got out of the car and fired two shots and began to walk away from the scene.

When police found her, she threw the handgun onto the ground, causing it to fire another round.

As police were taking Jones to the police department, they say she began kicking the squad car windows and door.

Police say Jones called the officer a "racist cracker" and that his kids were going to die.

She allegedly also told the officer he hated black people and his kids didn't deserve to live.

Police say when they arrived at their headquarters she spit through the window at a police K-9 and said she would kill the dog.

Jones was charged with battery by bodily waste, criminal recklessness, intimidation, carrying a handgun without a permit, criminal recklessness, and striking a law enforcement animal.
